Cream together

• 1 c. sugar
• 1/2 cup butter or oleo (one stick)
• 1 egg slightly beaten

Sift together

• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp vanilla

Cream sugar and butter together. Add slightly beaten egg and sifted dry ingredients.  Beat well.  fold in apples and nuts.

Bake 30-35 minutes at 350.  Serves 8.  Good with whipped cream.

It’s an appley sort of day around her.  Apparently my Grandmother did not understand this recipe when she first got it.  The instructions for mixing and baking are added on the bottom, in the same handwriting, different pen.
